We have been selected to receive a £20,000 grant to complete our school pond!

An application was made to Spirax Group who are a leading thermal energy and fluid technology solutions group. They provide solutions that support customers to improve the efficiency, safety and sustainability of their industrial processes. Spirax Group operate in a wide range of industrial sectors, from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to transport and power generation.

This money is going to support our pond project as part of our commitment to increase biodiversity in school and around Thetford. Our aim is to provide habitats for local wildlife and encourage a wider variety of animals, birds, insects etc to the area. This project will provide hands-on learning experiences for adults and children both here at Drake Primary School and Little Pirates Child Care, as well as surrounding schools who will be given the opportunity to access this area to extend their knowledge and understanding too.
