'Research demonstrates that when early years setting, schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children do better in school.' - National Centre for Family and Community Connections with Schools
What are Parent Cafés?
Cafés are informal sessions for parents/carers and other family members to attend alongside pupils. Cafés provide shared learning in a safe, informal and sociable environment, allowing you to get involved in your child’s learning. They aim to improve children’s outcomes in achievement, emotional health and wellbeing. They bring school and the community together, which benefits pupils, parents/families and teachers alike.
At Drake, we aim for our Cafés to be fun, enriching and to explore different parts of the curriculum – allowing families to see what education is like now. Importantly, you should leave a Café with some ideas of fun and educational things that you can do with your child at home!
'Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world.' - Nelson Mandela
