We were fortunate to receive four applications for the two parent governor roles, this means we need to hold a ballot.
Please see the attached letter which has the candidate statements on. The ballot paper is also attached however we will give children a ballot paper to bring home tomorrow.
The ballot paper needs to be returned to the school office by 12 noon on Monday 16th October.

Dear parents and carers,
As you will know, Drake Primary School & Little Pirates Child Care and Wicklewood Primary School & Nursery have been working in partnership since January. This has been a real success and following a period of consultation Governors from Drake Primary School & Little Pirates Child Care and Wicklewood Primary School & Nursery agreed to federate and become the Halcyon Federation, making the partnership permanent.
At this point, we now 'disband' both of the existing Governing bodies and start the recruitment process again. First, we recruit two parent Governors who, along with the Local Authority governor, co-opt additional governors. The materials provided will help you navigate the process and guide you in your application. A federation governing body’s role is for all the children, not just one school, and we need a governing body that can commit the time to help shape the future of all our students.
Please see the paperwork (documents 2-6) below.
On the link below you can see the information we put out previously about the federation process -

We are very excited about the future of our schools and look forward to the coming year working with a new governing body for both schools.
Kind regards,
Louise McLeod
