Music to listen to

We all know that reading and talking about books is crucial to your development as a writer. The same is true for music. If you want to be rounded musician and a discerning listener and to appreciate the value of all music types, then you need to listen to as wide and varied a diet of music as possible.
At Drake, we listen to a diverse range of music throughout the week from different musical genres, cultures and time periods. This year, we'll be sharing this music through our Drake radio station.

At Drake we focus as a school on a piece of classical music each month through the BBC’s Ten Pieces. 
We listen to it, watch musicians playing it, learn about the composer and the period of music it was written in, respond in different ways and share together in enjoying the music
