Child Care and After School Clubs

At Drake and Little Pirates we provide wrap around child care every day all through the year. We are open through all the holidays ( please check term dates below) and only close at Christmas, for safeguarding training and on Bank Holidays, if you would like to book breakfast or afterschool club then please contact our Little Pirates office littlepirates@drake.norfolk.sch.uk  and tel:01842 762055 ask for Little Pirates and go on line to book  at https://little-pirates.childcare-online-booking.co.uk/

 

 

Clubs General

We run a range of clubs throughout the year these will be booked via the school office and are booked and paid for using our Pupil Asset App (NB we have suspended clubs as we work through the challenges of the Covid 19  pandemic)

KS2 Music clubs
 

We are very pleased to announce that we are able to return to some group music making again in school this term. In line with guidance, instruments will not be shared, numbers will be limited and we will have strict hygiene and social distancing measures in place. In order to maintain our bubbles, each club will be restricted to one year group. There will be a free lunchtime club for each KS2 year group and we can also offer 2 afterschool clubs.
 

This term we’ll be offering the following clubs:

Free lunchtime clubs

* String ensemble – Monday lunchtimes
Mrs Levy, will be running a string ensemble for some of her violin pupils.

* Clarinet group – Tuesday lunchtime for Year 6
Mr Draycott, our new woodwind teacher, is going to run a clarinet club for those who would like to learn to play the clarinet, or who already play and would like to play as part of a group.

* Christmas Choir – Wednesday lunchtimes for Year 4
Mrs Carruthers, our new Musician in Residence, will be running a Christmas choir and getting ready for outdoor and/or virtual performances at Christmas.

* Samba Band - Thursday lunchtimes for Year 5
Mr Taylor, our other new Musician in Residence, will be running a fun and lively Samba club.  Carnival time is coming to Drake!

* Another Christmas Choir – Friday lunchtimes for Year 3
Mrs Booth will be running a Year 3 Christmas choir and getting ready for outdoor and/or virtual performances at Christmas.

Afterschool clubs      3:15- 4pm  £2 a week, paid termly in advance.

* Y5 ukulele orchestra - Wednesday afterschool £20 for 10 weeks
An opportunity to learn to play the ukulele in a group with Mrs Carruthers.
Dates: Wednesday 30th Sept, 7th Oct,  14th Oct,  21st Oct ,  4th Nov,  11th Nov,  18th Nov,  25th Nov,  2nd Dec,  9th Dec

*  Y6 digital music club - Thursday afterschool £18 for 9 weeks
This club will be run by Mr Taylor, one of our new Musician in Residents. Children will learn to use ipads with music docks to compose and produce music.
Dates: Thursday 1st Oct,  15th Oct,  22nd Oct, 5th Nov,  12th Nov,  19th Nov,  26th Nov,  3rd Dec, 10th Dec.

If your child would like to join a lunchtime club, they should listen out for details at school about how to sign up. There is no need to contact to the office about lunchtime clubs.

If your child is in Year 5 or Year 6 and would like to join the after school club, please  email the office and pay via Parent App. Places will be limited as part of our COVID safety measures.
