Curriculum at Little Pirates

Our Vision

We believe our children deserve the best and have the right to be happy, healthy, safe and cared for, whilst exploring their world. Learning in a caring environment, we treat the children as individuals to produce confident, independent learners, who achieve their full potential and become responsible citizens.

Our Aims

  • provide high quality care and education for children aged 0-5 within a warm, friendly and caring environment
  • work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop to their full potential and ensure they have the best possible start in life
  • add to their life and wellbeing learning from their local community
  • offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is broad and balanced rooted in children's needs and interests, we learn through play and first hand experience, within a rich, carefully planned environment. We know that play is vital in helping young children to develop through doing, talking and making connections. Research has shown that this is the most effective and appropriate way for young children to learn. Children will be given opportunities to make safe choices about their own play and will also have opportunities to learn with adults. We aim to offer an effective balance of - directed and independent experiences to support children's learning. Assessments on each child is done individually based on their learning through Tapestry. We use the observations we have collected and mark them off against the EYFS.
