Some parents/ carers may think that they are eligible for Free School Meals but have not yet claimed. I have been asked by a few families, how do they claim now? There is local government guidance that will help any parent/ carer to create a Norfolk Education Online NEO account. If they have already applied for school admissions online they may already have an account which they can use They will receive an automatic response to the application and if they are eligible, the LA will confirm by email and communicate with school.
Parents/ carers who believe their child/ren are eligible for free school meals should claim online via the Local Authority using/pasting in the link below:

Help primary school children continue their education during coronavirus (COVID-19)
While staying at home due to coronavirus (COVID-19), parents and carers will be concerned about their children’s education and the impact of missing school.
No one expects parents to act as teachers, or to provide the activities and feedback that a school would. Speak to your school who will be planning work for your child to do. Parents and carers should do their best to help children and support their learning.
Do not worry about trying to maintain a full routine for your child like they had at school. But children will feel more comfortable and learn better with a predictable routine to the day, even if this is difficult.
When schools provide children with work they may give you advice on how to structure the day. But generally, you should try to make sure that they:
Your child’s school may set them work that can be done on a digital device such as a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone.
Set age-appropriate parental controls on any devices your child is using and supervise their use of websites and apps. See advice on keeping them safe online and talk to your child about online safety.
Digital devices are not the only way to learn. Manage screen time with a timer and break up screen time by getting your child to:
see the link below or your childs class pages for more detail.
Just a reminder to all that Friday 8th May is a bank holiday, there will be no work set that day and Daycare for children of Critical Workers will be Closed.
We would love to see some images of the fun things you do to celebrate this day.
Guidance from Department for Education
Updated 14 April 2020
The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will impact on the ability of admission authorities (that is, local authorities, academy trusts or school governing bodies, depending on the type of school) to carry out admission appeals in the usual way. This is because appeal panels must be held in person, which would break the current restriction on gatherings of more than 2 people. There may also be problems securing sufficient independent panel members and partial school openings and closures may impact on meeting certain appeal deadlines.
Parents must continue to have the right to appeal to any school which has refused their child a place. We will, therefore, be making regulatory changes that, subject to legislation, will come into force on 24 April 2020.
The new regulations will relax some of the current requirements set out in the School Admission Appeals Code 2012 and enable admission authorities to proceed with their admission appeals.
Admission Appeals has been updated 14 April 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you so much for the fantastic support you have given to your children and the school staff over the last two weeks.
Please contact the school office via email if you are having problems accessing Tapestry or Google Classroom and we will try to help. Most of the problems so far have been about logins and access or saving/uploading work and these are often easy to solve. If you or your child has yet to engage with the classwork set by the class teacher, please have a look and feel free to use any of the work which has been set as it will stay on the sites but be organised by weeks.
From Monday, and over the two weeks of the Easter holiday, teachers will not set daily work or be available to mark activities or give instant feedback. They will set longer term activities, projects, experiments, investigations or research/reading tasks which can then be handed in after the break. Teachers may also provide links to relevant websites for children to keep occupied.
In the summer term, we intend to focus very much on times tables and to make sure that as many of the children in KS2 know up to x12 as possible. Accessing Times Table Rock Stars over the holidays would really benefit your child.
On Monday 20th April, Tapestry and Google Classroom will return to normal timetabled daily work with teachers again available during school hours to support.
Thank you for wonderful support, we hope you stay safe and well.
