  • School receives funding for pond project

    Sat 07 Oct 2023

This week, we received a donation of £2,500 from the BFER to support our pond project as part of our commitment to increase biodiversity in school and around Thetford. We are looking forward to developing our new school area, which will not only provide a new space and habitat for local wildlife, but will contribute to our curriculum offer for the children.

  • End of Key Stage 2 SATS

Mon 09 May 2022 Mrs Rosen

Thank you to all our teachers in the year 6 team who have supported the students so well over this year and over their time at Drake.  It has been a difficult time for everyone and we got off to a great start with a scrumtious breakfast provided by our kitchen team!  Pupils behaved impeccably and all were confident, one child commented, "That wasn't so hard after all!". A staff member said, " I think we have struck the right balance, enough practice so the children can navigate the process without becoming stressed or anxious. They (students) all approached the test in a really mature way, I am so proud of them... and us!"

    Well done!

  • Drake Orchestra

    Thu 06 Jan 2022

A reminder that we will be launching our new Drake Orchestra this month.

The orchestra will take place on Thursdays afterschool 3:15-4:15 and is open to all KS2 pupils, whatever their current ability.

We can provide ukuleles, glockenspiels, buckets (for our percussion players), recorders for the Y3s, trumpets for the Y4s and up to 6 keyboards for our keyboard players, Our string players should bring their own instruments.

If a pupil learns an instrument out of school they are encouraged to join and bring their own instrument along.

There will be no charge for this club, but places will be limited. Please book a place with the office letting them know your child's name, their class and what instrument they would like to play by January 7th.

We will confirm places and starting dates next week.
