Safeguarding

Arrangements at Little Pirates Child Care are designed with your child’s safety and well-being placed at the heart of all we do. Your children will learn about keeping safe as they learn about and navigate the world around them.  All staff, students on placement and volunteers are carefully vetted. We work on a key worker system, this means that we ensure children are protected and feel safe. All our children, including our babies, are secure and protected from harm. Our staff  will work to build a strong and trusting relationship as soon as they join us. Robust communication systems are in place to ensure staff share key information with each other and parents. Our staff are practitioners trained in safeguarding and the early year’s curriculum – Development Matters. Alongside Drake Primary School, we work together to ensure all policies are followed by everyone in the setting, in this way we are clear about procedures especially where they are concerned with the safety of a child, children who are deemed vulnerable, Looked After Children and children at risk of harm. In this rapidly changing world we are working hard to make sure even the youngest children are not only kept safe in the real world but also the virtual world.  Children use our ‘USE IT’ learning tool as they transition to the ‘big school’.
