The children learned about the artist Georges Seurat and explored his pointillism technique, where pictures are created using small dots rather than brush strokes. They enjoyed looking closely at his work and noticing how the dots came together to form an image.
Using this style, the children created their own dotted tree artwork to celebrate the Year of the Tree. They showed great focus and creativity, commenting on how their dots “turned into a picture,” developing their fine motor skills, attention to detail and understanding of different artistic techniques.
