We spent a lovely part of our week exploring all things Remembrance, focusing on the significance of poppies and why they are such an important symbol. The children listened beautifully as we talked about remembrance and showed great respect and curiosity during our discussions.
They were eager to get involved in a range of creative poppy activities. We worked on colour mixing skills to create different shades of red for the poppy petals, experimented with printing poppies using apples, and made poppies from playdough. We even worked together to paint some giant poppies for our whole school display!
It was a thoughtful and creative learning experience, and the children showed wonderful focus, sensitivity and artistic enthusiasm throughout.
