Maths: Measurement

This week in maths, the children have been exploring a range of measuring skills. They investigated weight using balance scales, comparing different objects and using key vocabulary such as heavier, lighter and level. They experimented with how adding or removing items changed the balance, developing both their reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Alongside this, the children also explored capacity, using terms like full, half full and empty as they worked with different containers.

It has been wonderful to see their curiosity, independence and enjoyment as they deepen their understanding of measurement in meaningful, playful ways.
