When bringing and collecting your child/children, please enter the building, via the main reception door. Please do not drop your child/children at the gate and allow them to walk in by themselves. Please ensure they are in the building, and that a member of staff has seen them arrive, before you leave. This is to ensure their safe transition, as our site can be very busy in the mornings. If you do allow your child/children to walk to school alone, please provide permission for this via email.

Update 08.01.2026

We have now successfully moved to Arbor for our Wraparound Care provision. All bookings are now made through Arbor, the platform already used within school for trips, clubs and meal selections.

To secure your bookings, it will be essential that all breakfast and/or after-school club sessions are pre-booked and paid for by Thursday for the following week.

If you require an additional session outside your regular bookings, please contact us by phone or email in advance so we can confirm availability. These arrangements remain unchanged.

There has been no change to how Tax-Free Childcare payments are made.

The new wraparound booking system is simply for booking and tracking sessions. How you pay using Tax Free Childcare remains exactly the same as before.

When making your payment, release the correct amount from your TFC government account. This is paid directly to the school. The payment is then credited to your Arbor account to cover the sessions you have booked.

Please continue to select Little Pirates/Little Ducklings as your provider.

Update 17.12.2025

From 1st January 2026 we will be moving to a new booking system for our Wraparound Care provision.

All bookings will now be made through Arbor, the platform already used within school for trips, clubs and meal selections. This change is intended to streamline the booking process, improve accuracy, and give families greater flexibility when managing childcare arrangements.

To secure your bookings, it will be essential that all breakfast and/or after-school club sessions are pre-booked and paid for by Thursday for the following week.

If you require an additional session outside your regular bookings, please contact us by phone or email in advance so we can confirm availability. These arrangements remain unchanged.

Information and guidance on how to make Wraparound Care bookings through Arbor is attached to this message.

Thank you for your cooperation as we transition to this improved system.

Update 09.10.2025

First and foremost, thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation, which enables us to run a very successful Wraparound service at Drake Primary School. In light of the growing number of new children attending Wraparound Care, we wish to share a reminder with our families, that to ensure your child has a place for the following week, your bookings must be completed by Thursday before 5:30pm. If you miss the cut-off or have difficulty with the booking site, please contact us so that we're aware and can make the bookings for you.

We ask that all bookings are completed by Thursday, a week in advance, to enable child numbers to be calculated across KS1 and KS2. This in turn ensures that both the food orders and staffing are in place for the following Monday.

Where an emergency/last minute booking may be required, please phone the school office directly. In exceptional circumstances, should a family have a next-day request for a place, and it is out of office hours, please bring your child to breakfast club and we will support your child to attend.

We would also ask that all families continue to support us by parking safely on arrival and using the pedestrian gate to enter the school site when on foot. This is to ensure the safety of all.

Update 04.03.2025

We are now in the second half of the Spring term, and we wish to thank you again for your ongoing support with the development of Wraparound Care for our Drake children.

As a result of the work the Wraparound Team and the children have done, we are now delighted to be able to expand our service to include KS1 children in our breakfast and after-school club meal times.

All primary-aged children in Wraparound care now receive an offer of a hot meal on a daily basis or twice a day if your child attends both breakfast and after-school club.

We are also excited to share with you that, with the aid of external funding, we have been able to purchase a wide array of new equipment to resource our Wraparound Care Provision.

As a result of this progress and our ongoing plans to continue to develop this provision, there will be a cost increase starting from 22nd of April 2025.

The increase will apply to all primary-aged children who attend after-school club only. The increase will be as follows:
After School Club - £15 per day
Breakfast Club will remain the same cost at £8 per day.

We appreciate the impact this may have on some families, and we will continue to work closely with you to ensure a smooth transition as the service develops.

Update Autumn 2024 – Exciting News – Wraparound Care!

As some families will be aware, in the October Term we were delighted to be able to share with you an exciting opportunity that we were looking to develop at Drake Primary School and Little Ducklings Childcare.

On Monday the 4th November 2024, we began the first phase of our term time Wraparound Care Project, offering Breakfast and After-school Clubs, for the older children, which would be taking place on our Drake School site.

The children's opportunities and experiences are extended by having access to the MUGA, Crinkle Crag, Forest Schools area and much more. The Key Stage 2 pupils were involved in gaining their voices and opinions on the different activities they would like to have access to at the clubs, and this has all been taken into consideration when planning. The clubs were led by the children’s thoughts, wishes and interests, to offer a bespoke provision.

As a result of the exhaustive and collaborative work of the Wrap Around Care Team, pupils and parents, we have been able to successfully launch phase two of our Wraparound Care project.

Through external funding, which we have been successful in accessing, we now have an extensive range of Key Stage 2 resources which have enabled us to provide amazing play opportunities for our children.
Little Ducklings : Reception – Year 2 now join us for our amazing breakfast and after-school club meal times.

As a result of the expansion of services, we are now delighted to be able to share with you that we have the capacity to have additional children at both Drake KS2 and Little Ducklings KS1.
