The Pod

Good Morning everyone!

I've added a recipe for flapjacks today, hopefully not too many ingredients and something that can be done together.

It looks like we're in for some sunshine over the holidays so if you can get outside that should help a bit. All play is learning, it doesn't have to be structured work with a pen and paper. Go out and get muddy, watch the flowers grow and hear the birds.

I will put up some activities on this page for over the holidays and a story or two on Tapestry.

As this is my last day at Drake I would like to say how sorry I am to be leaving and how much of a privilege it has been to work with your children. I will miss them (and their parents) very much. Each child is totally unique and has so much to offer the world. I wish you all the best for the future.

Here are a few activities to keep you busy over the holidays. Have fun and take care.

03-04 Handwriting

There is no need to do every sheet in the one day. Do one or two sheets then write the sentences out. Talk about who is doing what and where, Remember capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

I have put a video of me reading The Ugly Duckling story onto Tapestry. It won't transfer to this page.

I'm adding a sequencing activity here to go along with it.

You may also want to go onto Youtube and listen to the song, I think the original Danny Kaye one is great but there are lots to choose from. I'll pop on a copy of the lyrics so you can all sing along!
