  • Our learning

Our science curriculum builds scientific knowledge, and utilises this knowledge to work scientifically. Scientific knowledge is facts about the structure and behaviour of the natural and physical world. Children discover and learn facts about the universe they live in through the disciplines of biology, physics and chemistry. Children undertake scientific enquiries in order to answer scientific questions about the world around them. They apply their scientific knowledge to plan and perform hands-on practical experiments, learn how to analyse and communicate their results, both verbally and in writing. As well as opportunities for discussion and reflection, children develop problem-solving skills to make sense of information and look at data with a critical eye.

We relate new learning to relevant, real-world contexts, using Developing Experts and Lyfta. We have links with the John Innes Centre, Norfolk Rivers Trust and STEM Ambassadors to enhance our science curriculum.
